Pulsar is a revolutionary third generation Intense Pulsed Light system that has been clinically proven to permanently reduce hair growth.

The procedure is suitable for virtually all hair and skin types, and quickly and efficiently eliminates hair from all parts of the body including the face.

Pulsar uses the energy from a light source, which is taken up by the pigments in the skin, hair and blood vessels. The hair is removed by using the light to generate heat in the melanin in the hair, which is transferred to the hair follicle (root) to destroy it. Unlike electrolysis the Pulsar treatment is non-invasive.

The applicator (hand piece) is placed on the surface of the skin and the light is pulsed through it. The applicator is then moved to the neighbouring area and the process is repeated. Discomfort is minimal and apart from a temporary reddening of the skin, the majority of clients experience no further side effects.
On average clients require three to six sessions.

The sessions are timed dependent on the cycle of hair growth. This can be monthly, eight or twelve weeks apart. Facial treatments usually take approximately 10 minutes using a standard applicator head whereas legs or an entire back can now be treated in around 20 minutes with the introduction of Pulsar's new larger applicator.

Treatment is carried out by fully-trained therapists and clients are offered a consultation prior to treatment to assess skin and hair type for suitability. As the IPL settings are individual to each client, a patch test will also be carried out to ensure maximum results are achieved.
