Pulsar IPL
Intense Pulsed Light by Pulsar The ALL IN ONE SOLUTION for:
An effective solution to thread veins
It is estimated that nearly half of the adult female population suffer from 'thread' veins - small clusters of red, blue or purple veins that most commonly appear on the face as well as the thighs and calves. The condition is caused by dilation of the small venules under the skin. This occurs when the pressure inside the vein increases beyond normal resistance of the vein wall. Although harmless, they can cause distress as the sufferer often feels self-conscious and whilst not regarded as a serious medical condition, 'thread' veins can sometimes produce a dull aching of the legs after prolonged standing. How it works Pulsar Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment has been clinically proven to effectively treat 'thread' veins. Unlike other procedures used to treat problem veins such as electrolysis and sclerotherapy, Pulsar IPL does not specifically pinpoint the veins. Instead, it treats the general affected area. The light is passed onto the skin and is absorbed by the red colour of the veins which then heat up and coagulate. Pulsar IPL is particularly effective on the face where there is often a superficial network of small capillaries. It can also be used for very superficial red capillaries on the legs although results may be less successful. The procedure A cold gel is applied to the area to be treated, and the client is given dark glasses to protect the eyes from the bright light. The smooth glass surface of the Pulsar IPL hand piece is gently applied to the skin and pulses of light are applied. Discomfort is minimal but if required, an anaesthetic cream may be used. You may resume regular activities immediately following treatment. Pulsar IPL works as a series of treatments approximately 6 weeks apart, although results are often achieved in 1 or 2 treatments.
